Hi,
I`ve just bought the HP Spectre X360 Model 13-4172 and i`m trying to find the correct Active Pen to buy , I contacted where I bought it from and they said it didn`t support the Active Pen which i find confusing because in settings under Devices theres a section for PEN AND WINDOWS INK theres also a PEN shortcut on the taskbar .
Any help would be appreciated . Thanks

Hi @BANANAFARMER,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you.
As I understand you want to know if the HP Active Stylus Compatible with HP SPECTRE X360 13-4172na notebook,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
As you suggested, I did go through the Maintenance and Service guide for your PC and did not find any information about the support for Active stylus, . Here's a the link: HP PCs - Touchscreen Compatibility with Pen and Stylus
That said, you can always get a passive stylus as it works on any touchscreen device regardless of its brand or model,
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

Your laptop has a Synaptics digitiser, so any (first generation) Synaptics pen should work. Besides the one listed on this page, there is also the Dell Active Stylus for Dell Tablets (750-AAGN or 750-AAHC). The consensus is that the Dell pen works even better than the HP one. In any case, I can personally confirm that the Dell one works well on the Spectre.
