Pavilion Dv6-6169ee
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP laptop dv6-6169ee which originally shipped with windows 7x64.

I had to clean install windows 10x64 version 1909 (OS build18363.778) on the machine.

Windows 10 updates found all my missing drivers and installed them automatically; however, I was trying to run a program that heavily depends on the graphics card and it reported: "there is a conflict between the two GPUs I have".

Whenever I force disable one of these graphics cards, the software works perfectly. Now I know the problem is in the driver of one of GPUs.

I have downloaded the AMD drivers for windows 10 from AMD website following this link: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-hd/amd-radeon-hd-6000m-series/amd-radeon-hd-6490m

but the problem still persists.

I would appreciate your help in figuring out the problem.

Thank you.

@Ahmed_Aredah,

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the graphics driver on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In which software you are facing the issue?

I checked and see that there are no drivers from HP for Windows 10 for your computer. I recommend you install all the Windows updates and check whether the issue is resolved.

Here is how it is done.

  1. Select the Start (Windows) button from the bottom-left corner.
  2. Go to settings (gear icon).
  3. Select the Update and Security icon.
  4. Choose Windows Update tab in the sidebar (Circular arrows)
  5. Select Check for updates. If there is an available update, it will begin downloading automatically.

Or else you need to wait for the driver update from Microsoft.

I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Unfortunately, this wouldn't help as My windows 10 was up to date at that point of time.

Now, since i couldn't solve the problem, i downgraded back to windows 8.1 and everything is fine now.

I also found on AMD website that my AMD GPU is not supported on windows 10 and i have to downgrade to windows 8 again.
