Hi
Can anyone help suggest the best processor upgrade for this laptop? It’s currently running the stock AMD Quad Core 1.5GHz but I’d like to get it over 2GHz for some applications I’m trying to run.

Hi:
The processor your notebook has is an integral part of the motherboard.
The only way to upgrade the processor would be to replace the motherboard with one listed in your notebook's service manual that may come with a better processor.
Such a project is almost always like throwing good money after bad.

Thanks for that advice 👍🏻.
Next one is HDD ... (the laptop was an absolute bargain so just trying to work out how to improve it, already has 8GB RAM). I know it’s a 2.5” SATA. My questions:
- is there a max capacity the laptop can handle?
- will it take an SSD?
- what is the SATA on the laptop rated at? (I.e. am I looking for basic SATA, SATA-III?)
ideally a 2TB will be awesome!
Thanks folks

You're very welcome.
I cannot find a Crucial memory report for your specific model notebook, but according to the report for this model, which has the AMD A4-5000 processor, it can support up to 2 x 8 GB of memory.

So whatever applies to this model would also apply to yours.
A SSD will greatly improve drive performance, and you can replace the 2.5"mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.
The crucial memory report indicates that up to 2 TB SSD's are supported in your notebook.
The drive controller should be SATA III but even if it is only SATA II, a SSD will still be fast.
