We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

by the way, before you jump over to "Notebook: Video, Display and Touch",

since we seem to have the exact same laptop; check out my query about

upgrading memory and/or HDD to SSD...mine only has 4gb memory, you?

HP Recommended

ATTENTION  cribguru:  since we have EXACT same laptop (MicroCenter?)

1.  I too have given up & just "live with it" (AMD driver message)

received a few detailed directions on how to remove it...one

from DKG4 was the most comprehensive, 5 'simple' steps.

(review '5 steps' in forum "Network Video, Display and Touch"

      from DKG4 "2-15-2017  @  12:22am".  I then translated those

'5 steps' from 'geek' to 'dumbass' in reply "2/15/2017 @ 10 pm

      then DKG4's "perfect" reply came  "2-18-2017  @  7:22am")

**  sadly, tried this twice and message never went away....given up!

2.  discovered Crucial while shopping HP.com...found (relatively) cheap

replacement SSD's for our specific laptop as well as memory cards.

After reading (though definitely NOT understanding) directions how to

install SSD, decided against even attempting this..."Wow, speak english!!"

3.  determined to get even a little more juice out of my ole dv7; decided to try

adding memory...eventhough our dv7 Max is just 8gb.  Mine came with 4gb

(2 x 2gb) with 2 memory 'ports', so only upgrade option is to replace both of

original 2gb cards with two new 4gb cards to acquire Max supported @ 8gb.

Crucial offers a set of two 4gb memory cards "HP-compatible" specific to my

dv7 for $64 (#CT5307352 @ Crucial.com).  Will shop all venues to be certain

this is best option/best price; then gonna 'pull the plug'....rationalizing since

I know NOT gonna even attempt SSD install, this seems to be my only option.

**  Let me know, fellow dv7'er, if you are interested in updates from this quest
