Hello,
What is the storage type details for HP Envy 15-k020us? Is it SATA 2 or SATA 3? I am going to upgrade my HDD to SSD.
I checked 2 products.
1. Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND
2. Samsung 860 EVO 1TB
860 EVO price is somewhat higher than MX500, so thinking of that. Also, there is 860 QVO? Is MX500 better than 860 QVO? Just need an opinion.
Thanks.

Machine has 1TB 5400RPM hard drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection with 2.5GHz 4th generation Intel Core i7-4710HQ Processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz therefore the storage is SATA 3.
Yes, you can use Crucial MX500 or Samsung 860 EVO 1TB. Both are good SSD's. I use them both on my machines. I actually like Crucial than Samsung because Crucial supplies a spacer or adapter for machines with 9.5mm slot.
Regards.
