Here's some troubleshooting steps you can try: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03738933
If you are experienced at laptop repairs, you can often replace a keyboard for $25 for a new one and a half-hours work. I have done this on older HP laptops.
But, if you're NOT, there is a serious risk of breaking fragile connectors and cables doing this -- so I do not recommend it.
Instead, I would recommend you hunting down a local laptop repair place to have THEM replace the keyboard. Sometimes, on some models, you have to replace the entire top surface of the laptop, not just the keyboard. So you should get an estimate of what is involved before you have the work done.

Keys can stop working for lots of reasons, a common one being dirt or grime under the key caps that prevents them from being pressed down far enough to activate the pressure sensors underneath. You can sometimes clean that out using a can of compressed air and spraying under the key caps.
But apart from wiping the key caps with a damp (NOT wet) cloth, there is nothing else you can do to clean a keyboard on a laptop because if you pry off the key caps, in nearly all cases, that breaks the key mounts and the caps will not go back.
And, while you could remove the keyboard and wash it in detergent and hot water, you risk damaging the laptop in the removal process and you have to wait DAYS for the keyboard to completely dry before putting it back. That does expose the sensor bed beneath the keyboard, allowing to see if there is grime on that which needs to be cleaned.
Your best bet, if you are not experienced in this, is to take the laptop to a service facility and see if they will remove and clean the keyboard and sensor bed beneath it.
