Hi:
If your notebook has an AMD Ryzen processor, the M.2 slot supports NVMe and SATA SSD's.
If it has an AMD 'E' or 'A' series processor, the M.2 slot supports SATA M.2 SSD's only.
See chapter 1 and chapter 3 of the service manual for the drive information.
The drive capacities are normally just what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum capacity supported.
While the manual does not indicate NVMe SSD's are supported in the model series, this video shows that a NVMe SSD will work in a 245 G7 with a Ryzen processor.
