After the feature update to Windows 10, version 1703, I got this error message every time I restart the computer:
"The code execution cannot proceed because accelerometrdll.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."
I uninstalled HP Drive Guard several times and intall it again - fault remains.
Please advise how to fix.

Hi,
Try the following.
Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP 3D DriveGuard and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
Download the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp77501-78000/sp77869.exe
Download and install the x64 version of 7-Zip on the link below.
When you've installed 7-Zip, open your Downloads folder, right click on the sp77869 package, select 7-Zip, select extract files and then click Ok.
Cut this newly extracted folder and paste it on your Desktop so it's easy to find.
When done, hold down the Windows key and press R
Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
In Device Manager, expand System devices, right click the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor entry and select 'Update Driver Software'.
In the following window, select 'Browser my computer for driver software' and then select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'.
In the next window, click the 'Have Disk' button and then browse to the extracted sp77869 folder you pasted on your Desktop.
Browse into the sub-folder InstallFiles, open the folder Win10, left click on the file accelerometer to highlight it and then click Open.
Click on 'Ok' and then click 'Next' and wait for the driver to install.
When done, click 'Close' and then click 'Yes' to restart the notebook.

Hi David,
Many thanks, after actions described above and restart no more failure message.
The question is only regarding 3D DriveGuard soft- now programm is uninstalled, and as I understood, I will get failure message back once I install it, won't I?

Hi,
You're welcome
There's no need to run the DriveGuard installer - all that's needed is the accelerometer driver you've installed.
All the best,
DP-K

Hi,
Yes, you can just ignore it. As long as the driver is installed, the hard drive protection will work as usual.

Hi dears,
Probably after the lates Win update I noticed next:
HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor
The driver for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
Is there any solution?
