I purchased this laptop and the external drive from Costco. I was able to install and view/save files to the external drive without any issue. I then installed the externall drive on my MacBook Pro 13" with Retina Display and was able to view/save files to the external harddrive without any issue.
When I next went to use the external drive on the HP laptop, I get an Access is Denied error. The external drive works just fine on my Mac. I can't figure out why it is no longer working on the HP Laptop.
I'm unfamiliar with Windows 10 but I have checked to see that there are drivers.
Any thoughts? Did installing it on my Mac break the ability to use it on a PC? I have another Seagate external drive that I can move between both operating systems without any issue.

Some Seagate drives have a nasty habbit on installing proprietary software that basically "locks" the drive to a specific PC.
If you then "move" the drive to a different PC, you could have serious problems getting access again from the original PC.
Sorry, but we don't have the resources in-house to debug this kind of issue. You need to contact Seagate support and see what they recommend. They might have something you can download that would basically "re-register" the drive with your original PC.
Good Luck
