when doing a battery test, the computer is charged and the battery is working normally but the adapter does not send back any data for some reason. this caused few days ago the computer not to start. unplugging the battery and starting just through "wall'power" and run the latest windows update made the computer start again but it keep giving me the adapter error. You should replace the power adapter with a new one, according to the translation of the error code..

Hi @AleAle10

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The adapter error you're encountering on your HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec1000 Laptop PC suggests a potential issue with the power adapter or the communication between the adapter and the laptop.

Here's how you can address this:

1. Check the Power Adapter

  • Inspect the Adapter: Ensure the adapter is not physically damaged, and the cable is securely connected to both the laptop and the wall outlet.
  • Test with Another Adapter: If possible, borrow a compatible HP adapter and test it with your laptop. If the error disappears, your current adapter might need replacement.

2. Update BIOS and Drivers

  • Update BIOS:
    • Visit the HP Support page for your laptop model and download the latest BIOS update.
    • Follow the instructions carefully to update the BIOS, as this can resolve power-related issues.
  • Update Drivers:
    • Open Device Manager and update drivers for the battery and power management components under "Batteries" and "System Devices."

3. Perform a Battery Test

  • Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool:
    • Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly during startup to access diagnostics.
    • Run the battery and power adapter tests to identify any faults.

4. Reset the Power System

  • Turn off the laptop and disconnect the power adapter.
  • Remove the battery (if removable) and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Reconnect the adapter (without the battery) and turn on the laptop. Then, reinsert the battery.

5. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Ensure your laptop's firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can resolve communication issues between the adapter and the laptop.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
