My ProBook 450 G3 has a 256GB SSD. I would like to add a second 1TB (HDD). What will I need? What kind of drive? Any mounting bracket? Anything else I should know?

@Jimhim

I believe your machine has an option with 256GB  M.2 2280 SSD (NGFF), SATA-3.  You need  a Hardware Kit (includes bracket and screws) part number 828147-001. And you can replace yourself.

Page 39 of the following manual shows you how:

Thanks. I added a 2T drive. It was easy. The drive I purchased was SATA 6, but is backwards compatible with SATA III. The bracket came with the screws needed to mount the drive to the bracket, but not the screws needed to mount the bracket to the laptop. Luckily I had the correct size screws in my stash. Installed, initialized and formated the drive, and good to go.

Hi, I have the same laptop as yours. My laptop has a hdd 512gb and I would like to add a m2 ssd 256 gb at the empty slot but without taking away the hdd. My question is:

can I install the windows at the ssd and keeping the actual hdd at the same time?
