HP Laptop 15-da0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is it possible to add a SATA SSD to this model laptop and what parts are required.

There is no SATA connection in this model as supplied, only an M2 SSD drive, which I have already upgraded from 256GB to 1TB.

The hard drive connector is not built in you need this part:

(11) Hard drive connector board L20454-001

Its at the other end of the hard drive from the place circled in the picture posted by @banhien  above:

part includes SATA connector bar and zif cable connecting to header on motherboardpart includes SATA connector bar and zif cable connecting to header on motherboard
On the top picture you posted the HDD connector screws into the hole at the upper right corner of the battery and the little zif connector on the motherboard is at the lower right corner of the battery.

Post back with any more questions and we will try to help you find the connector piece.   Never mind: found it.

SATA connector is built in but you need  Hard drive bracket part # L20455-001 to keep HDD in place

You can order part from HP Partstore

Thanks for replying.

I have attached photos of where I think the drive should go but there is no SATA connector even though the bracket you mentioned is fitted.

This model also came without an optical drive, however there is a connector for that, although there is no provision in the base for it.IMG_20190223_065443.jpgIMG_20190223_071500.jpgIMG_20190223_071530.jpg

@Huffer

Normally manuals show HDD hardware on one page that why I picked the part up on page 45. It turned out we need one more part on page 52. I did put for myself a question mark but did not read the following pages.

Can you point me to where you found the manual iyou're using for reference to add a SATA SSD to an HP Laptop 15-da0xxx?

I'd like to crack open the laptop and get a better look at what needs to be done to install a SATA SSD but I'd be more confortable doing so with some documentation on the proper procedure for cracking it open.... so I don't "crack" it.  LOL

Thanks
