HP ProBook 430 G4 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am considering buying a HP ProBook 430 G4 for my wife for business ( she is a realtor and on her PC all the time.  This PC is powerful, in my price range, but has limited storage (256GB SSD)  I want to add a second, HDD, probably 1T, for her to store files, which we can easily switch when she gets a new pc.  Is this possible for this model?  Do I need to buy mounting hardware and if so what, from where and what is the approximate cost.

Thanks

David

Machines of the series have the following options

HP ProBook 430 and 440 G4 Hard Drives Supports SATA, 7mm, 2.5" Hard Drives 500 GB - 7200 RPM Hard Drive
500 GB – SSHD (hybrid) (8 GB Cache)
1 TB - 5400 RPM Hard Drive
Mini Card Solid State Drive M.2 (NGFF) 2280 Solid State Drive
128 GB SATA-3 Value Solid State Drive
256 GB SATA-3 Value Solid State Drive

I believe your wife's machine has M.2 256GB SATA 3 SSD. If yes then you can add a HDD to her machine. I don't know the labor cost because normally I do this myself but you can buy a normal 1TB HDD for laptops for around $80 to $120 and yes, you need to buy a Hard Drive Hardware Kit from HP.

Updated: The following manual (page 33) shows you how to replace (in your case: add) a hard drive
