Hello @zegalvis,

Yes, your computer's Maintenance and Service Guide does mention support for a dual storage configuration. The HDD spot should be in the bottom left hand corner.

Steps to replacement are located on pages 34-35 of the manual above.

You'll most likely need these two parts:

Hard drive connector cable 813795-001

Hard Drive Hardware Kit 813796-001

It'll fit a 2.5" hard drive with 9.5mm thickness.

Hope this helps,

Eddy

I need to completely open the downside of the laptop because in the bottom haven't a door, the aluminium shell is only one peice.

Not bad because i need to:

  1. remove dust from cpu heatsink
  2. check left side display hinge because i'm afraid it's about to break, and if necessary repair it
  3. move the first hard drive to the second bay and mount in the first a 1TB SSD

Can i change the M.2 128GB ssd with another more big?

Hello @zegalvis,

Apologizes for my inability to understand your question.

Having to remove the entire bottom cover is a given and I believe that your current setup includes a 128GB M.2 SSD - correct?

If so, that means that accessing the HDD slot is simply removing the battery, the optical drive, and the bottom cover. Accessing the SSD is a much more tedious task as you can see on pages 51-52. Procedures on accessing the hard drive are located on page 34 of the manual above.

I'd recommend keeping your SSD as is (no upgrading) as the boot drive while inserting a 1TB HDD for your files and other storage.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

BTW, if you are under warranty, contact HP regarding the hinge because that seems to be a design issue, not a customer issue. Let me know if you are not under warranty.

Best regards,

Eddy
