ENVY 17 cg1000-nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Question for an ENVY 17 cg1000-nl.

Sorry... before opening the laptop someone can tell me if inside there are already the brackets and the sata cable to add a hard disk ssd.

I am not very practical and I would like to avoid repeatedly disassembling my laptop.
My current configuration only has an ssd m.2 hard disk but this model, as far as I know, can "accommodate" a 2.5 inch hard disk.

Thank you in advance

Gabriel

Hi, Gabriel:

Most likely the parts to add a 2.5" drive are not there, since the PC did not come with a dual drive configuration from the factory.

It would be much easier and cheaper to replace the M.2 SSD with one having a larger storage capacity.

Below is the link to the service manual.  HP only has the older one on your notebook model series' support page.

The part you need to add a 2.5" drive can be found in chapter 3 on page 21.

(3) Hard Drive connector/cable   L87952-001

No parts are listed for a mounting bracket to secure the drive.

The above part is not orderable from HP.

Thanks for the quick answer.

I have already purchased the internal cable and for the brackets I am quite confident to find them already inside.

Thanks again for everything.
