Hello
I bought an HP ENVY x360 15-bq102nl last month and I'm very satisfied, but the storage capacity it's not enough.
I know that there is a slot to add a sata hd in addition to the existing 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD.
What do I need to mount it? only th HD or some connection cable or adapter... What I find inside?
If I add it, do the warranty lasts?
What brand is preferable?
Thanks

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
I have gone through your Post and it will be my pleasure to assist 😉
You can add an additional 1-TB, 7200-rpm, SATA, 9.5-mm hard drive to this Notebook
You will need the extra accessories like the hard drive bracket or the hard drive cable to connect the Hard drive
The hard drive bracket is available using spare part number 924350-001. The hard drive cable is available using spare part number 924326-001. All the required parts can be availed from HP
You can refer to page 28 & 29 in this Service Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05819570
For the 1 TB hard drive, HP recommends using the Spare Part Number 766457-857. You can try other brands or other Hard drive but HP cannot guarantee they will work efficiently since this Notebook has only be tested with the Part Numbers mentioned
Please Note that the extra Hard drive will have it's own separate warranty since its an extra hardware that did not come with the Notebook. It is highly recommended to remove any extra Hardware or Accessories when sending the Notebook to HP in future for repair
Hope this helps.
Keep me posted if you need further assistance 👍
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Heres what you need to know first:
NOTE: The hard drive spare part kit does not include the hard drive bracket or the hard drive cable. The hard drive bracket is available using spare part number 924350-001. The hard drive cable is available using spare part number 924326-001.
red circle = your existing M.2 SSD green square is where hard drive would go
Your laptop will not have the bracket or cable inside to add a hard drive. You would have to buy those parts plus buy a hard drive. Where do you live (country) so we can figure out if they are available.
The upgrade would not take away your warranty.
See pages 25-29 of the Manual here:
The hard drive can be any brand 2.5 inch SATA hard drive; Western Digital, Seagate, etc. No more than 9.5 mm thick.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if its the answer you needed.
