Hello everybody! 🙂

I want to upgrade my laptop by adding a m.2 ssd in there. I read that the disk 2242 is suitable. But there seem to be different options and I can't figure out how to understand which one will fit. They even in the photo have different connectors )
Will this one fit?

or this one?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Compatible M.2 2242 SSD will be MLC, SATA-3, not NVME.

MLC, SATA-3 is the specification of the optional 120 and 128 GB M.2 2242 SSD that HP offered when customers were configuring their HP 430 G2 notebook at the pre-purchase stage.

Thanks for the reply!
Okay, I understand I need a SATA drive. And what's the capacity? 128 max or can I go with 256?

HP Recommended

I can't see why you couldn't go with a 256 GB.

As long as the 256 GB M.2 SATA-3 MLC SSD  fits the specifications there should be no issue.

Thanks again!

I want to add ram as well.

There is 8 Gb already inside, so i want to get 16 Gb in total. As i found out, there should be one empty slot.

Does this one fit?

Hynix SODIMM DDR3 8Gb 2Rx8 1600Mhz PC3-12800S-11-13-F3 HMT41GS6BFR8C-PB

It is best practice to replace memory modules as a identical pair, otherwise you might find only one module being recognized by the installed OS.

That module will work.  It meets the specifications.

I don't know how the price is over there but here they are really inexpensive.

Compatible soDIMM modules will have this specification.

PC3L-12800, 1600-MHz, DDR3L SODIMMs
