Adding my support for HP to update the BIOS to re-introduce the battery care function for the X360 Spectre.

I've just bought an X360 Spectre and did my research before hand. One of the reasons I chose the HP (a Dell was a strong contender too, which has a similar charge limiter) was because my research before buying indicated that HP had a charge limiting function on its previous X360's, so why would it be removed on this latest version! My previous 5 year old Sony had a charge limiter. There is no need to creating more dead batteries on the Earth that need disposal/recycling. Please just add it back to the BIOS.

@andresmorago

Thank you for the update.

I understand your concerns.

I appreciate the feedback/suggestion, and I've forwarded this to the concerned (R&D) team within HP, however, there's no saying how long before it's developed or released,

That said, If there's anything else, you need help with, feel free to get back to us anything and we'll be happy to help you out.

I hope that answers your query.

Have  a nice day!!

Please update this functionality. Where can we find an update on the status of this feature? It is already developed in other HP systems. I understand it is probably on the low end of importance for R&D, however the community really wants it and needs it.

I wonder if HP is fooling the users...

Product number is: 7AL88AV

Late 2019 spectre 13 models do not have the battery care function in the bios. This is a required feature that the user cannot implement through software. It must be added by an hp bios update to enable 80% or 60% charge limiting for example. This extends the life of the battery and enables systems that are constantly plugged in for work to only charge up to a certain percentage in order to maintain battery. Lenovo and other companies add it into their bundled software to adjust this, but hp has to enable it in the bios first.
