HP ENVY x360 - 15m-cp0011dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to add a hard drive to my pc since I only have 128gb of storage. I opened the pc up and realized it has an M2 inside of it. It has a bay for a 2.5in drive to be installed. and I can see the plug where it goes into. I need the mounting hardware and cable to connect the hard drive that I got (2.5" WD 500gb ssd) The problem is, when I search the part numbers, it doesn't seem like they have been released yet. So I am looking for a compatible option from another laptop so that I can get the drive installed

You will need 2 parts

  • The hard drive cable is available using spare part number L21894-001
  • The hard drive rubber sleeve is available using spare part number L20103-001

Unfortunately parts with prefix L are new and not available for (open) ordering at this time, you need to ask HP authorized service providers to upgrade for you.

You should pick dual storage options (with 2.5" HDD/SSD) in the first place because cheaper and no hassle.

Regards.

I'm aware that those are the parts I need. If possible, I would like to avoid the whole service thing. I'm a tech myself. It would be much more convenient to just install the parts myself. I've seen posts elsewhere (can't recall where) of people having a simlar issue and they were able to use a cable from a different pc. they had to mount the drive weird but they didn't have to pay $80 for one part and then pay a service fee too. So I was looking for a simlar option if possible.
