Product: HP Pavilion 15-ec0000na 15.6" Gaming Laptop

Hello all. 

I have recently purchased a HP pavilion 15-ec0000na. Looking at the specs it comes with a 256 ssd that I believe is installed in the m.2 slot. When I took the back off (pic attached) there is a black plastic box where I believe a 2.5”hhd could be installed. Is this correct ? I know the more expensive models come with both a ssd and hdd. I would appreciate any help and advice.

Hi:

 

Yes, I believe that you are correct.

 

That does appear to be a blank box that even has the 2.5" SATA drive connector going to it.

 

You can have a second look at that to confirm.

 

I would imagine you can disconnect the cable from the 'black box', and install a 2.5"  SSD in its place.
