Adding a SSD Drive to my laptop

Hi,

I have a HP Notebook-15-bs180tx laptop with Intel core i5 8250u processor and 8 gb onboard RAM. I also have a 2 tb 5400 rpm hard drive. I want to add a SSD to my laptop. Can you tell me the brand and size of SSD that I can use on my laptop which will be my windows installation drive also. I have no operating system installed as of now as laptop is brand new. I know that NVEE Ram cannot be installed in my laptop. Any guidance in this regard is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Any size in GB or TB, or brand should do. Also laptop drives are a standard physical size, so just make sure it is a laptop ssd.

You can add M.2 2280 SATA SSD only if you can confirm there is a free M.2 slot for it in the board, by opening it up and checking.

There is dual drive configuration listed for your model series, i.e., can have both HDD in it's bay and M.2 SATA SSD in it's slot separately on board.

But in certain models, you can only replace HDD with M.2 SSD in the HDD bay using M.2 connector board and cable, with no separate M.2 slot.

Any capacity SSD could be fitted upto 2TB , unless you're ready to spend and no M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD support.
