Hello, I have an Hp 15dw1057nl,  I have just  a m2 ssd installed and I'm running out of space... But I've seen that inside the case there's room for and additional 2.5 ssd near the battery. There are no cables, so my doubt is:  Is it really possible to add a second hard drive? What should I get? What cables do I need to connect it? IMG_20220213_170239820.jpg

Hi:

Chapter 3, page 21 of the service manual has the two parts needed to add a 2.5" drive...

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC

(2) Hard drive bracket     not spared
(3) Hard drive cable      L52025-001

You would have to figure out a way to secure the 2.5" drive since the mounting bracket is not available.

I recommend you replace the NVMe SSD with one having a larger storage capacity.

It will also have less drain on the battery rather than hooking up another piece of hardware.

Thanks, I'll think about it... The battery consumption is definetely a week point of my laptop. I already use it most of the time connected to a power chord...

You're very welcome.

If you want to buy the drive cable, you can get it directly from HP, but as you can see it is very expensive.

HP Parts Store: parti per computer HP, parti per stampanti HP e parti Compaq

You're almost halfway toward the cost of buying a 1 TB NVMe SSD at that point, and you would still have to figure out how to secure the 2.5" drive inside the notebook.
