Greetings - I'm new to this board so please forgive any violations of protocol. I have a new ENVY 17.3 Laptop with i7 5500U and 16GB RAM.
The product number is "M1W07UA#ABA", with S/N "(removed content)" From what I've been able to gather, the system board is a "80D 64.32", with a 940m 813681-601" Intel i7 Processor.
The "Maintenance and Service Manual" relates that I can add a M.2 SATA-3 TLC Solid State Hard Drive.
I am interested in adding a Samsung M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (512GB) as a boot drive - if the M.2 has "4 lanes?" Otherwise I would select the Samsung M.2 850 SSD (500GB).
So my questions are:
1) How many lanes are in the M.2 on this system
2) Do I have to remove the system board to access the M.2 slot
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
