Hello, I'm gonna buy a Victus 16-s0040nf. And I've been looking through a lot of site. But I couldn't find if it was possible to add another SSD, or change the existing SSD of 512Go.
And if possible, whats type of SSD can I use ?
I was gonna buy a TRANSCEND MTE250H NVMe of 2 To

So i'd like to know if I'm making a mistake or not.
Thanks for considering this question.

Hi:
The notebook only has one M.2 slot for a SSD, so if you want more storage, you will need to remove the 512 GB NVMe SSD and replace it with one having a greater storage capacity.
The information in the service manual is contradictory.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
Chapter 1 indicates one M.2 SSD is supported.
But if you look at chapter 5, page 32, it indicates that the notebook supports two NVMe SSD's.
However, if you look at the service teardown video, it clearly shows that there is no M.2 SSD on the left side of the notebook as shown in the service manual.

You get a good view of that if you watch the procedure on how to remove the system fans.
As far as storage, HP offered PCIe 4 x 4 NVMe SSD's up to 1 TB in the model series, but I can't think of any reason why a 2 TB PCIe 4 x 4 NVMe SSD wouldn't work just as well.
The drive you selected will not work because it looks like it comes with a heat sink.
There is not enough clearance to support the thickness of that structure.
If you look at the service video procedure to remove the M.2 SSD, it comes enclosed in a shield, so a drive with a heat sink won't fit.
I recommend the Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB, no heat sink.
