My laptop has an M.2 SSD and also space in the case that seems just the right size for a SSD.
Questions:
a) What is, and where do I get, the correct SATA cable
b) Does the SATA cable get connected to the "MB" or "HDD" ZIF socket? Both are not connected to anything at the moment.
c) What is, and where do I get, the correct caddy for a 2.5" SSD?

You can add 2.5" HDD/SSD (7mm thickness) to your machine and you need following parts
- Hard drive cable part # L23187-001 (system board has connectors for HDD cable).
- Hard drive bracket part # L24490-001 (no need caddy)
Parts with prefix "L" are new, very hard to find

Here's the Service Manual:
Page 36 and 38 show where the hard drive connector zif is located.
You need these parts:
Hard drive cable L23187-001
Hard drive bracket L24490-001
These are really hard to find and sellers take advantage. Here is the cable, which you cannot do without:
