Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

Start removing back cover on p. 41. Inside see this:

red arrow = M.2 green arrow = 2.5 inch bayred arrow = M.2 green arrow = 2.5 inch bay

So you can have a total of 3 storage devices in this workstation. A pair of M.2 2280 SSDs either SATA or NVME and then also a 2.5 inch form factor HDD or SSD. Usually the Zbooks come equipped with all the needed hardware t mount a 2.5 inch disk.

I have the G3 version of the Zbook 15 and mine has 3 drives in it: a 2.5 inch SSD and then 2 x M.2 SSDs.

Many thanks for your reply Huffer!

Will check it out.

Do I need a particular breed of ssd to be compatible?

HP Recommended

Either SATA or NVME M.2 2280 form factor. I am not sure if the existing SSD is a 2.5 inch kind or an M.2 but if you have only one SSD then you have at least one M.2 slot open and I recommend a Samsung 970 Evo Plus to put in the M.2 slot. If your 2.5 inch bay is open and you want to use it use a Samsung 860 Evo 2.5 inch SSD.
