Hi, I want to upgrade my HP to 12GB RAM, currently, I have 6GB. On the HP website manual says that usually G3 can have 8GB max, but for example, AIDA Scanner says that I can have 16 GB max, plus I've seen similar topic here and people decided that it's possible to have 16 GB RAM. So I think that manual says 8 GB max because there are different modifications of G3 and I assume that I've the most powerfull modification with Intel i5 cpu.

Here is the Service Manual:
As long as you have the Intel Core processor and not the Bay Trail, you can upgrade to 2 x 8 gig DDR3L-1600. I believe you do not have the Bay Trail since having 6 gigs means you have a 4 gig and a 2 gig and only the Intel Core models have 2 slots.
This information is contrary to what the manual says (8 gigs max) but based on a lot of feedback here on the Forum and personal experience. I might pause if you have a 3rd gen Intel Core but would be 100% sure you can install 16 gigs if you have a 4th gen or higher CPU.
Post back with any more questions but please accept as solution if this is the answer you needed.
