Hello, I have experienced many problems with my usb-c power connection. It keeps failing to charge the laptop especially after using multi-port adaptors. So I am having the port replaced and I want to use a compatible docking station so I don't keep plugging in and out of the laptop. Please advise exact docking station for compatible trouble-free use of this laptop.

@Bobstone2491, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

To ensure a trouble-free connection with your laptop using a docking station, you might consider an HP USB-C Docking Station which is designed to provide seamless compatibility and power delivery. Here are a few options:

HP USB-C Docking Stations

HP Elite USB-C Docking Station: This docking station provides multiple USB ports for connecting external devices, video output options including HDMI and DisplayPort, and network connectivity through an RJ-45 jack. It’s ideal for connecting multiple devices without repeatedly plugging and unplugging cords from your laptop.

HP Universal USB-C Dock: This dock supports connecting a wide range of devices through USB-C and offers power delivery, reducing the need to connect a separate power adapter to your laptop.

Key Features to Consider:

  • Power Delivery: Ensure the docking station supports power delivery to charge your laptop efficiently.
  • Multiple Ports: Check for HDMI, DisplayPort, USB ports, and Ethernet connection options to support your peripheral devices.
  • Compatibility: Choose docking stations specifically designed for Windows 10 or Windows 11 to ensure seamless operation.

Setup and Usage Recommendations:

  • When connecting a docking station, use the USB-C cable that supports power delivery to maintain a stable charge.
  • Always ensure your docking station is connected to AC power.
  • Follow setup instructions to install necessary docking station software and drivers on your laptop to maintain compatibility.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
