Hey Everyone. I’m using a notebook with an intel celeron CPU N3060 @ 1.6Ghz and a 4GB ram . My laptop is very slow whenever I open programs , even worse when I use some programs like Spark AR etc . I’m considering on adding another RAM (16GB or add another 4GB) and upgrading my CPU to an i5 processor . Is it advisable to upgrade my CPU or will it damage my laptop and what factors should I consider before upgrading . Thank you in advance 🙏

Hi:
The advice on the CPU upgrade is simple.
You can't upgrade the processor since it is an integral part of the motherboard.
Since you have to replace the motherboard to upgrade the processor, that is almost always not a cost effective solution.
It would cost about the same as buying a newer notebook with a better processor already included.
Memory: Since your notebook has a Celeron processor, it has one memory slot.
So, in order to upgrade the memory, you need to remove the existing module and replace it with an 8 GB module, which is the largest capacity your notebook can take.
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the memory upgrade info, and the memory removal and replacement procedure.

Here is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook.
You can use it as a guide for the memory you need to get for your notebook.

You may want to consider replacing the mechanical hard drive with a better performing, normally more reliable 2.5" solid state drive. That will pep things up considerably as well.
