After installing a new battery I get a message everytime I start up

I have recently had a new battery installed. I checked to ensure it was a genuine hp battery and as far as I can tell it is, but everytime I start the computer now a warning comes up stating the battery cannot be found and confirmed and maybe dangerous if not a genuine part. Is there anyway to check the validity of the battery and remove the message at start up?

I understand that after replacing the battery you are getting the message.

 

Please let us know the part number of the battery that you have replaced.

 

Have you performed the battery test?

 

1. Power off the PC and make sure that it is completely powered off.

2. Press the power button and the moment you press the power button immediately start tapping F2 key, you should see the system diagnostics screen.

3. Look for the component test, under that all the hardware will be listed, please choose Battery and initiate the quick test.

Note: If it fails it will generate a 24 digits alphanumeric failure id, please capture that.

Thanks. I did as instructed and it said component test Passed. So I restarted the laptop hoping the message had gone, but it was still there!

Thank you for the update.

 

Please  try the below: 

Steps to uninstall the ACPI drivers 

Right-Click on start button> click device manager> Batteries>then select the s drivers and right-click on it and uninstall all battery drivers. 

Then restart the computer and check again. 

 

Link for battery testing and calibration 

 

Please update the BIOS.

I tried to follow the steps you gave but there was no link to "s drivers" only "ACPI-compliant control method battery" and when I right clicked on it the only options were 1. Update drivers, 2. Disable devices 3. Uninstall devices and 4. Scan for hardware changes.

I tried option 1. but it said my drivers were the best available and option 4. which seemed fine as a very quick scan detected nothing. I didn't try option 3. as I didn't want to uninstall the battery!

You are in the right direction.

 

You have to select uninstall the device. Then try to update the BIOS.
