p004sr
Linux
Laptop: HP pavilion 15 p004sr OS: Linux Ubuntu 16.04.2 After installing amdgpu-pro (did as instructed by AMD), the window is running in low graphic mode. In order to restore the download, you can remove amdgpu-pro. Free drivers do not suit. I plan to use this laptop for games, but I do not like microsoft windows (That's why I deleted it from the hard drive, because of the large consuming of resources, due to other reasons), Is my laptop compatible with amdgpu-pro from the AMD website ? (If possible, post it on the HP website for this laptop amdgpu-pro for ubuntu).

You have to install amdgpu-pro with a switch so it knows you have switchable graphics and not a single AMD video card.

You have AMD APU graphics (integrated) and also dedicated 2 gig R7 M260

Thanks for the answer. AMD APU (integrated), and Radeon R7 M260 architecture GCN (GCN 1.0, 1.1, 1.2)?

AMD Radeon R7 M260 - GCN 1.1. So you'll have to compile the kernel with the CONFIG_DRM_AMDGPU_CIK parameter. But where do I download and install the video card switch? The third post is your post, but no one answered. In the instructions from AMD there is nothing about the switch. In the first link, too, nothing about the switch there.

Its not a physical switch it is a command you add to "install". Also called an "argument"...an extra word you add when typing the command.

This command?

./amdgpu-pro-install -y

Yes that is the standard switch for switchable although if you read the posts I linked the person said he used something else.

Use google translator. Amdgpu-pro unfortunately is not supported by me, I will stay on free with open source amdgpu / radeon. After rebooting, the same thing, even though I pointed to the switch. Amdgpu-pro has just been released, not all video cards and amd computers are supported.

Sorry good luck. ATI/AMD has always been more difficult to install in Linux...nVidia works with the community a bit more.
