Hi @gc_gokhancam,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can feel the urgency in your words, especially when your HP PC suddenly shut down during a game, and now won’t respond even after trying the Win + B BIOS recovery and holding the power button. It’s deeply frustrating when your system goes silent just when you need it most, especially with important photos waiting to be transferred.

Let’s walk through the steps to help revive your PC and get those files safely out before sending it in for service.

Recovery Steps for Black Screen After Sleep or Sudden Shutdown
1. Disconnect All Power Sources

  • Unplug the charger.
  • If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out.
  • Disconnect all peripherals (USB drives, mouse, etc.).

2. Perform a Full Power Drain

  • Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds.
  • Wait 30 seconds more before reconnecting the power.

3. Try External Display

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor via HDMI or USB-C.
  • If the external display works, your internal screen or cable may be faulty.

4. BIOS Recovery (Win + B or Win + V)

  • With the laptop off, press and hold Windows + B (or Windows + V) and then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.
  • Release all keys and wait. If successful, the BIOS recovery screen should appear.

5. Check for Fan or LED Activity

  • If the fan spins or lights blink (especially Caps Lock), note the pattern. HP uses blink codes to diagnose hardware issues.

6. Access Files via External Boot

If the laptop won’t boot, but the SSD is intact:

  • You can remove the SSD and connect it to another PC using a USB-to-M.2 or SATA adapter.
  • This lets you transfer your photos safely before sending the laptop for service.
