HP ZBook Power 15.6 inch G8 Mobile Workstation PC (434Z0AV)

Product description: HP ZBook Power 15.6 inch G8 Mobile Workstation PC (434Z0AV)
Product number: 313T2EA
Serial nbr: Removed

after upgrading the memory  to 64GB (Samsung SODIMM DDR4-3200 32GB) and replacing the original SSD (WD PCSN810NVMe = 1 TB) by two Samsung SSD’s (Samsung 990 Pro 1TB - SSD M.2 2280 - PCI Express 4.0 x4 - 1 TB - NVMe 2.0) the laptop no longer detects the battery (bios and therefor not in Windows).
When going back to the original setup (memory and SSD) the battery is also not detected.

when talking to Support they suggested a faulty battery but after replacing the battery it was  still not detected. Now Support wants me to have the motherboard replaced.

I would like to have the problem diagnosed rather then replace the laptop part by part.

the laptop is fully up to date with regards to drivers and firmware.

re-applied the last firmware update and reinstalled windows several times

does anyone have a suggestion other than buy a new one as Support suggests without any diagnosis?
