Hi,  Kudos for trying. I have two other ideas to run past you if you don't mind. Could there be a registry key for the generic graphics driver that has to be deleted, before the reinstalled Intel 4600 driver takes over?   That's what I had to do to get HP Simplepass working again after the Win 10 update. Just went in deleted it and reinstalled Simplepass and it worked. Second question is it possible to pull the original driver for the Intel 4600 combined card off the original HP recovery disks without doing a full recovery? Trying to be creative here. Still no HDMI video showing up, HDMI audio yes. Thanks for all the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi:

Unfortunately, I would have no idea where in the registry you would go to find the driver info.

Also, I don't know how you can go into the recovery disks to find individual files.

I was under the impression those are unreadable image files.

Hi Paul, I found something really good and was able to get everything to work. After going back to Intel 4600 driver it showed HDMI audio but no HDMI video. I get an Intel Graphics Control Panel when I right click display.  Once you plug in the HDMI to TV and audio works there is a setting under audio settings that says able/disable video, inside the control panel, uncheck it and video works going to the TV. HDMI video shows up after the HDMI cable is plugged in? There is a Intel site by Dave Taylor that really helps explain a lot about HDMI and hooking up to a TV. Kudos to him for explaining HDMI simply.  Also inside device manager go to view and click show hidden devices and there are a lot more settings for people to check. Hope this helps someone else with HDMI trouble.

The video that helped.

I tried everything I read and nothing worked. It started when I had to re-install Windows 10 because of a hard drive failure. One thing that someone mentioned was to click on the HDMI sound driver in device manager and select to manually install it. I had nothing to install and looked around and thought I would point it to the HP directory where all the zipped executables get unzipped and it found a driver and fixed it. I am not sure what it found but it is an Intel driver dated 6/26/2015 and version 6.16.0.3178 and it now shows under the device sound area as Intel(R) Display Audio. If I look at Playback Devices my BenQ monitor now shows up and I get sound again. Hopefully this helps someone as I tried a million things before this worked!
