Hello all!  I have two HP devices an 23 inch Q242 Pavilion and an HP 15-bs212wm Lap[top. I want to upgrade the memory in both devices. Does any one know if the 8 GB RAM in the Q242 is compatible with the Laptop?  I want to take out the 4 GB in the Laptop and replace it wih the 8 GB from the Q242 and then buy a new 16 GB for the Q242 Pavilion.  Before I take anything apart and make purchases I thought I would ask.  THX for any help/suggestions!

It is not possible to swap the RAM as the notebook uses DDR4 RAM and the AIO uses DDR3 RAM. Let us take a look at both products.

The AIO supports max 16GB of DDR3L 1600Mhz RAM (2x8GB) There are are two slots, so you could add another 8GB stick in the empty slot. You can buy from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsun...

The notebook supports max 8GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM. There is one slot, so you will need to replace the 4GB module with an 8GB module.
