Hi, so I bought this Omen 16 like jan 2024 and its been working really well in both games and coding stuff. And I did a factory reset like 2 times, and the second reset I did two days before, and I was playing games after that, and all of a sudden my games and game stores were stopped responding even when I clicked like a couple of times and checked my GPU, and it was updated. So what kind of issue am I facing right now and how do I resolve it?

@Abraham_rzr, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand how frustrating it must be to have your OMEN 16 suddenly stop responding, especially after everything was working well. No worries, let’s try to figure this out together!
Since this started happening after your second factory reset, it could be related to missing or corrupted drivers, background processes, or even storage issues. Here are a few steps to help troubleshoot:
Check for Windows Updates & Drivers
- Open Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.
- Go to the OMEN Gaming Hub and make sure all drivers (especially GPU and chipset) are up to date. You can also manually update drivers from the HP support website.
Check Storage & Background Processes
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check if any process is using up too much CPU or disk.
- Make sure your SSD isn’t full—if it’s running low on space, it might slow things down.
Run System Diagnostics
- Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP Hardware Diagnostics. Run a system test to check if any hardware issues pop up.
Check Event Viewer for Errors
- Press Win + X > Select Event Viewer > Go to Windows Logs > Application and see if there are any critical errors related to games or system processes.
Reinstall Your Game Stores & Games
- If only your game stores (Steam, Epic, etc.) and games are affected, try uninstalling and reinstalling them.
Perform a Clean Boot
- This helps rule out software conflicts. Type msconfig in Windows Search > Go to Services > Check Hide all Microsoft services > Click Disable all > Restart and see if the issue persists.
If none of these steps help, let me know! We might need to dig a little deeper, but I’ve got your back. 😊
Looking forward to hearing how it goes!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
