My dog chewed through the cord on the power adapter that came with my HP Pavilion 15, so I purchased another 135w adapter that said it would work for this computer, and it does...sorta. It does charge my battery, but a popup keeps telling me that the power supply is not adequate and may result in poor performance, and that is what's happening. Everything is maddeningly slow. I spoke to an HP rep today, and he told me I need to find an HP 135w Smart AC power adapter, but HP does not have this adapter in stock, nor does anyone else, it seems. Any suggestions for another adapter that would work with this machine? Thanks!

Hi:
Below is the link to the parts list for your notebook.
The power adapter part number and description is:
L15534-001 | 135W ADAPTER PFC SMART SLIM |
What I recommend you do is to go on eBay, do a search by the HP part number and find a used but tested and working genuine HP power adapter. Those usually come with the power cord that goes from the wall socket to the adapter as well.

You're very welcome.
Yes, I would much rather take my chances with a genuine used HP power adapter than some new generic third party one.
I have bought a few used genuine power adapters over the years on eBay and never had an issue with any of them.
And if HP had the one you needed in stock, you would have paid a fortune for it.
