Hi,

I found ants entering my HP Laptop (Model: 15-fc0028AU). So far, the laptop is working fine — no damage or performance issues yet.

However, I am concerned it could cause problems soon.

My laptop is still under Care Pack warranty (valid till July 25, 2026).

I would like to know:
• Can I request an onsite service or cleaning for this issue?
• Is this type of cleaning covered under warranty?

Kindly guide me with the next steps. I want to make sure the device stays safe.

Thank you!

Hi @RAMSEENA,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out, and we appreciate your proactive approach in ensuring your HP Laptop (Model: 15-fc0028AU) remains in good condition.

We understand your concern regarding ants entering your laptop, and we appreciate you taking steps to prevent potential damage.

Important Information:

While your laptop is currently functioning well, please note:

  • Insect infestation is not covered under the HP standard warranty or Care Pack plans.
  • This type of issue is considered environmental and not a manufacturing defect.
  • As a result, onsite service cannot address or resolve insect-related internal cleaning or infestation.

Steps You Can Do:

Although this is outside warranty coverage, we recommend the following:

Keep the device clean and protected:

  • Place the laptop on a raised surface (avoid floors or damp areas).
  • Store it in a dry, sealed, pest-free location.
  • Avoid using the laptop near food or drink.

External cleaning:

  • Use compressed air to clean vents and ports gently.
  • If signs of internal activity appear (flickering, overheating, etc.), power off and avoid use.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
