I tried to change my HDD to an SSD and it wouldn't recognize the drive so I went to the bios to see if I can change the settings to boot from USB and every time I tried the Bios never saved the changes.
I have a 15-bw033wm with an AMD A12 4 Core with 8 Gb of ram.
The updating software doesn't seem to work either.

Thank you for posting back.
The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

To make a change to the boot order power on and tap the F9 key to enter the boot options.
Select the drive that you want your notebook to boot from. Follow the screen instructions and let it boot to the selected drive
If that does not work:
Your notebook has a RTC battery that is supposed to supply current to the EEPROM chip that holds the BIOS code.
As long as it has a reasonable voltage and stored current, the BIOS will remember its settings.
When the RTC battery runs out of current , BIOS forgets its settings.
RTC battery for your notebook is HP P/N 922847-001
RTC stands for real time clock.
