I ordered a laptop last week. My laptop build is currently still on-time. However, I am wondering if custom built systems are shipping on-time right now. I read some horror stories from last year when the supply chain was interrupted of laptops not shipped even 3 months later. Now I'm getting a bit concerned as this is something I actually need. I'm sure most people feel the same way. Thanks for your assistance.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

There is no way for us to know when or if the process will run "on time" or deflate into a puddle-of-trouble.

Yes, since the last month of 2019 and continuing to now, there have been delays (more than what we used to consider "normal"), part shortages, work stoppages, shipping problems, delivery issues (ask anyone about the mess in the trucking industry due to the driver shortages).

So... what?

Nothing, really.

We cannot influence the process nor can we predict what will happen to your order.

Why?

Even assuming we have powers of persuasion (we do not), we do not speak for HP.

And?

Nothing - "Don't worry" sounds silly but it is the only advice for something that has not happened to you yet.

Personal experience:

I ordered a Workstation earlier this year - after nearly two years the parts were finally available for the configuration I wanted -- the lead time was a bit longer than what used to be considered normal (expected).  That said, when all was said-and-done, the workstation was built and arrived about a week earlier than promised.  Nice.    Means nothing, of course - simply an illustration that "the process can work".
