I'm planning on replacing the battery on my now more than five year old Spectre x360. I'm looking at online options as my local tech outlets don't carry the specific one I'm looking for and I'm trying to get this done sooner than later. There are a lot of unofficial aftermarket batteries offered on Amazon that could be here in a day, I have very little experience and knowledge on the battery market so I'm asking for input. Is this a completely no-go option or are they functionally the same? I appreciate any help, thank you.

Ideally you get an HP part numbered battery, but the third party ones are a viable option. If you buy on amazon try to get one with the best customer feedback for the seller. In many cases, the unbranded ones are made by the same manufacturer on the same assembly lines as the official ones. If you provided the full model number of the laptop we could see if we can locate any official HP branded batteries for you.
