My laptop was not charging. I comtacted hp support and today ome ofyour technician visited me.
He told me that laptops charger port is damaged. Also he told me that its not covered under warranty so I must be ready to pay for it. I just need to know are they really not covered under warranty??? I think this should be. Also if not, how much should I be ready to pay for? Would it be cheaper if get it repaired from anywhered else not from hp centre??? I am really confused and furious now about it.

See p.84 of the Manual here:
Replacement of the power jack and cable is no harder than replacing or upgrading memory. Open the back and unplug the cable from the motherboard and remove the module from the chassis. Piece of cake.
Power connector cable 813945-011
The part is not sold by HP at the Parts Store right now and I can only find these 2 purchase sources:
Frankly a little more expensive than I had hoped but still way less than the HP tech would charge.

Depends on how the charging port failed. If there are signs that it has been bent or abused it is not covered. Yes it would be cheaper to have just about anyone other than the HP technician do it out of warranty and it is not impossible to do it yourself. We can help you locate the part and provide a manual and likely an instructional video. The part is very inexpensive.

Thanks for that quick reply. Please sir do provide the manual, video and if possible link where I can buy it. Also if I needed to know if the motherboard is having any connection.with it? He told me that if the motherboard is connected, it will require approximately 4times the money spent on repairing if it wasnt connected. Please reply asap.
