Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop currently has 1 stick of 8gb ddr4 memory in it. However, my ram usage is constantly at least 65% just idleing due to the security programs I needed to download to access my university's WIFI. I've been wanting to add in an additional 8gb of ram when my warranty expires, however, I'm not sure if the stick that is currently inside of my laptop is soldered on or not. I'd still be able to get to 16gb of ram total either way since I'm fairly sure there are 2 ram slots, but I want to know how consumer friendly or unfriendly it is.

I also want to upgrade the SSD in my laptop from 512 gb to 1 tb in the future. Is it possible, or is the SSD  soldered on?

If either of them are soldered on, I'm not going to purchase an HP product as my next laptop, whenever that may be, because I don't want to have to replace a whole device if the RAM or SSD breaks.

On page 1 of the following manual

            http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c07067374.pdf

It has  2 slots of RAM:

  • Upgradeable system memory supporting up to 16 GB (2 × 8 GB or 2 × 4 GB) and 8 GB (1 × 8 GB or 2 × 4 GB)
  • Support for 3200 DDR4 1.2 V SODIMM system memory
  • DDR4-3200 dual channel support

Regards.
