When I press the left and right arrow keys they type p and 0, and when I press p the cursor jumps to the left of it. Also pressing the semicolon causes scrolling or jumping around the page? I have tried doing a system restore to the last update and it didn't fix it. I recently had liquid spilled on the keyboard but it was on the other side and this issue only just began like today.

@violyre Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing an issue with the keyboard.

I recommend the below steps:

Clean the keyboard with compressed air (blow compressed air in the gaps between keys). This removes some lint and dust.

Shut down the laptop, remove the battery and cable for a moment, press and hold the start button for 60 seconds

Replace the battery, restart the notebook,

if the issue persists, change the keyboard layout and check if it works: Click here for steps.

Also, run a hardware test to identify any issues with the keyboard: Click here for details (Interactive test) under component tests - keyboard.

let me know how that pans out,

And the answer to the above question will help me, help you!

Keep me posted, and if any of the above questionnaires helped resolve the issue,

Good luck.

Hi,

I haven't had a chance to try the powering off and removing the battery part yet as I don't have the right screwdriver, nor do I have compressed air, but I tried the rest.

it seems that during the keyboard test, my keyboard is pressing the left arrow key at the same time when i press p, the right arrow key when i press 0, the page down button when i press ;, and the page up button when i press -. Also, i think it is pressing print screen when I press '. and this applies vice versa as well, where if I press either of those key pairs, the other one is triggered as well.

Changing the keyboard layout didn't do anything unfortunately.

once i get a chance to try compressed air and removing the battery I will let you know. i just wanted to reply with my findings first before i get to that.
