Hello All,
I am facing on of the most annoying problem.
Everything in my laptop like windows menu, browser, PDF, everything is getting auto scrolled.
In the bios also , I observed this auto scrolling problem.
No hardware damage, No spilling, No change in form of keys in laptop.
This laptop is With undetachable battery.
I have tried external keyboard - it’s working fine.
I have tried uninstall and reinstall of touchpad and keyboard driver. - doesn’t resolve.
I have done clean install of OS using recovery manager - doesn’t resolve
when I performed Keyboard hardware diagnostic , I felt the abnormal behaviour of my keyboard. Whenever I press the number key 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,0 the down arrow key also getting pressed and the auto scrolling starts. (My laptop keyboard layout is compact it doesn’t have separate number pad) When I press any other key the auto scrolling stops.
When I press right arrow key , the down arrow keys getting pressed and auto scrolling starts.
When I press down arrow key, sometime is getting detected sometimes it’s dead.
When I worked with other keys without using the above mentioned key, the laptop is working fine.
If anybody faced this kind of problem or aware of solution, please let me know. It will be highly helpful.
Still I have one more month warranty left , I bought the laptop in Japan with international warranty with Japanese keyboard but now I am in India.
Does they HP India support for the hardware replacement if my keyboard has issues?

I have gone through your Post and would like to help
If you have an international warranty, then the Notebook can be serviced within the warranty even if you have purchased it from Japan

Hi,
I have the same exact problem for the past week or so. The down arrow key seems to be sending the signal of constantly being pressed to the screen causing lot of irritation. The actual key is not pressed at all and it is at the same level as the rest of the keys. When the laptop is behaving as if the DOWN arrow key is pressed, the behaviour can be stopped by pressing the Escape key or the UP arrow. However, that relief is only temporary and soon the behaviour restarts of scrolling to the bottom as if the DOWN arrow key is pressed.
Even in the keyboard diagnostics when I pressed F2 at the startup reflects this behaviour but surprisingly the test says that the Keyboard test passed! I tried updating the keyboard drivers (couldn't uninstall the device as suggested in another post). I am at a loss of what needs to be done.
Can someone please help?

This sounds like a hardware issue with the Keyboard since the problem persists even before the OS loads
Try updating the BIOS and check if that helps. Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
If the issue persists please contact HP Support for Service Options
