Example: Pavilion DV 6t 1000 CTO Entertainment PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an HP DV 6t 1000 CTO laptop with an Aver Media TV tuner, purchased around 2008. All I can find out about it is from W10's device Manager. It's called an HP ATSC/hybrid TV Tuner.

W10 wiped out it's drivers. I'm now running Linux (Debian and Ubuntu) and would very much like to use it. LinuxTV.org has many drivers for Aver Media  TV tuners. But I can't identify which model it is.

Can you help me identify the model #: A312, A318....?

Thank you

Hi:

I am not familiar with how Linux works, but the windows driver has support for the following hardware ID's which identify exactly what model TV tuner your notebook has.

List of supported models
; Format: Model_Name, PnPID, Installer_Name
; HP

[Model_List]
1=A316,PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&SUBSYS_0a551461,A316A317
2=A317,PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&SUBSYS_10551461,A316A317
3=A328,PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7231&SUBSYS_02031461,A328
4=A309,USB\VID_07CA&PID_A309,A309

You will need to have a method to find the hardware ID for your specific TV Tuner device.
