@ROHIT12177, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're dealing with a battery issue on your HP Laptop 15s-fr2000. Before you go ahead and replace the battery, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to rule out other potential causes:

Perform a Hard Reset

Shut down your laptop.

Disconnect the charger.

Remove the battery (if removable; for many newer HP laptops, the battery is built-in, so this step may not apply).

Hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.

Reconnect the battery and charger and power the laptop back on.

This can help reset the power management system and may resolve charging issues.

Check Battery Health

Go to HP Support Assistant (or HP Battery Check):

Open the HP Support Assistant app.

Run a Battery Test to see if the battery is showing any errors or issues.

This will let you know whether your battery is physically damaged or failing.

Type “cmd” in the Windows search bar and open Command Prompt.

Run the following command to generate a battery report: powercfg /batteryreport

This will generate a report and save it in a location on your computer. Review the report to see battery health and status.

Update BIOS and Drivers

Check for BIOS updates:
Sometimes outdated BIOS software can interfere with battery charging. Go to the HP Support Website and enter your laptop model to check for the latest BIOS update.

Update Battery Drivers:

Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.

Expand Batteries, then right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Update Driver.

Follow the on-screen instructions to check for driver updates.

You can also try uninstalling the driver and restarting the computer to let Windows reinstall it.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
