They will only run in Windows...
You can find the last BIOS update released under the W8 64 bit driver section.

Well there is a BIOS utility that works from the command prompt, and HP states that one can install from a USB drive. But that's not the problem.
The problem is that I cannot find the HP directory where all the BIOS files are stored. I would like to know two things:
1. What is that latest version?
2. Will I be able to turn on switchable graphics?

I gave you the link to the latest version, and I have no idea if the update will allow the switchable graphics to work in Linux, since Linux is not a supported operating system.
All the BIOS updates for your notebook are on the support page I posted.
Click on the previous versions section.

You can just click on the actual BIOS update file link I posted earlier if you want the latest one.
I gave you both the link to the driver page in general and the direct link to the latest BIOS update exe file (sp77491).
