Hi,
I would like to update the BIOS, change the processor's thermal paste, and install Windows 8.1 on an old Pavilion dv9000 laptop (running Windows Vista x86), but it seems that the support page for this model doesn't exist anymore, so i'm kind of stuck..
If somebody can help me, i would greatly appreciate it.
Best regards,
- Gilles

Update : After some research, i found the manual and the BIOS files :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48121.exe
My problem seems to be resolved now
However the laptop is still overheating (up to 70°C for the proccessor) after i changed the thermal paste.. But it's another problem.

Thanks for the warning concerning installing a newer Windows on the laptop.
Unfortunately i'll have to install it anyway as Microsoft will cut down Windows Vista support this april, as they did with Windows XP three years ago.
I'll find a solution for the drivers once i'll have finished with the rest, but now all i have to find is the BIOS update files, and the manual of the laptop for disassembly.
Thank you for your help
