Haven't been able to get this hardware problem fixed -- both the battery and the keyboard are not responding to any BIOS changes. Because of the lack of warranty support, have decided to return the laptop. Unfortunately the online video tutorial for RETURNS is also wrong. The tutorial says that if we are within the 30 day window, we can click a RETURN link from our order information. However, there is no link on the order and no other way to start the return online.
Seems like one snafu after another. A call to Customer Support for Returns results in hold music with instructions to return the product online referring to the same video which does not work.
Finally called Tech Support about the Return Tutorial video being wrong and found out there is a typhoon in the Philippines and therefore all Returns are unavailable. Feel terrible for all those folks. Puts all this in perspective. Hope the people of the Philippines are well and recover with as little loss of life as possible. Update. The typhoon was terrible! So sad. There are many legitimate organizations trying to help. [content removed]
